Using Scuttle for Commenting on Dofollow Blogs

Alright guys, I still have some family in town but I wanted to give you some truly solid blogging tips for you to munch on before I get the videos going in high gear again. I think your gonna like this one.
Have you ever been hit with Akismet and thrown to the spam folder just and you can’t seem to leave a comment for the life of you on any dofollow blogs? I have a solution and its quite easy. But this solution not only solves that issue, but also can help you get comments to slip through if you have blogger blogs that don’t seem to pull the last post from your feed when commenting on dofollow blogs with the commentluv plugin as well. So here is what I have come up with.
A scuttle site is basically a bookmarking site to add all your favorites, much like Simpy, Stumbleupon or some of the other popular ones out there. The great part is that there is a free version that is open source. Ok, so what does this have to do with commenting you might ask? Well lets say you have built a scuttle site like this example below. Notice the first bookmark listing on this scuttle site. If I were to comment on a dofollow blog with commentluv and make a comment with the link of this scuttle site as my website, the dofollow plugin will pull the latest post from your feed. Guess what the latest post would be on this scuttle? BINGO!! It would be the last bookmark that was added.
What this means then is that you can add a bookmark on your scuttle site to comment and then shut it off in the configuration file from new people registering on it. Then go get links on dofollow blogs and it will actually point not to the scuttle when it pulls the latest post, but to the site that is the latest bookmark on your scuttle site. I hope you are not lost now.
Now below I want to mention all the reasons this is beneficial.
- If your blog has been akismeted and you need to get links to it.
- You want to get links to BANS sites and they get rejected a lot.
- You want to get various anchor links besides the title of your post.
- You want to get links to previous posts other than your latest one.
I hope this has been helpful to you and I know I have opened a can of worms for questions, so don’t be afraid, I will answer them for you. ![]()

OH DEAR! You are so right I am totally lost as to what you are doing. I was lost from the very beginning.

Are you saying we should build a schuttle site for our own posts and make our sites a dofollow blog?

I have no idea what this means! ” configuration file” ?
LOST!!!!!!
Denise its better we talk about this in person as this could take a while. I will be on skype the next few evenings. Just hit me up so we can talk and I will explain.
Thanks Justin! I definitely cannot make it tonight but I will try to get you tomorrow. It has been too long since we talked anyway.
thats deliciously evil!
Very smart. This is truly out of the box thinking.
One question for you Justin (or anyone else who knows this). When I search for niches/keywords, lots of times front page consists of Amazon pages and similar merchant sites like Ebay, Nextag.com, Target.com, Walmart…
I’m not sure how hard it is to beat those sites in SE. They have big authority and PR3 or PR4 pages for certain products or line of products. Do you have any experience in ranking against them?
Wow this is beyond me.
But I will keep as a reference, and check again when I gain more knowledge.
thanks.
Sure they can be beaten. They don’t spend all day getting links for any particular product really since they make a lot of money through their authority and pay per click. Just get some good links to your site and you can take them over because of accumulating lots of anchor links.
You can use not only Scuttle but a bunch of other bookmark service for this technique. Unfortunately, most of blogs not follow feed links.
I can’t believe you let the secret out of the bag Justin… lol. Thanks man for the tip, it is fantastic and it really works!!! U da Man!
Thanks Justin, I really appreciate your answer.
Yes Symbian but the reason I use this as an example is because Scuttle is the easiest to manipulate, plus you are getting links for 2 sites. But there are a lot of dofollow sites that allow feed links.
I agree! I have surpassed amazon and ebay on a few of the niche sites I have created. Just keep building links.
When you have been hit by Akismet is it only temporary ?
if so, how long does it normally take to get back into action again?
Well unless you report it to Akismet team it can be whenever you try to make a comment that you get sent to spam.
Justin: Would it be good to use a different host with a different ip for scuttles. And offtopic when you do your ban set up ,does each one show up with a seperate cpanel or setup as subdomains with one cpanel. I may have to redo some stuff.
If you want to Jay. As far as BANS, Yes I use a reseller account so that they each have their own cpanel account.
Hi Justin,
I have read and reread the post and I semi-get it… I understand the concept but I’m fuzzy on the execution.
Where in the config file are you “turning it off”? I can’t seem to find the instructions in the comment area of the php file.
You also said that to turn it off to new registrants. So does that mean that you are allowing those who already registered to bump you down as top bookmark? The only way I can think of that can stop new people from registering is just deleting the register file.
Finally, when you say do comment plugin, I’m still not understanding how this pulls the first bookmark… unless you are searching for the comment luv plugin footprint?
Thanks in advance Justin! I think this idea is really cool, if I can only understand it better!
Great tip Justin! I see you got your new theme up and running, looks pretty cool!
Justin,
This is a really good tip. I like your style of teaching as it is nice and simple, clear and unhurried.
I was wondering if your solution regarding the dot info bans sites worked? you were talking about using blogspot and a redirect I think to get your bans sites indexed.
I’m not really sure what to do with bans right now. I am getting some traffic and sales from Yahoo but Google is still the same. All of my bans sites are de indexed and have been since May.
It’s obvious that G doesn’t like bans on dot info but I wonder what footprints Google filters for.
I am wondering if there is a simple way to alter the script so as to remove some of the tell tale footprints.
Hi!
Thanks so much your post on Scuttle! I heard about Scuttle from quite a few other blogs, yet I did not really know how to use it.
However, after reading your post, I was able to understand it fully! Thanks so much for your awesome post!
You are a genius!
Did you come up with this trick or find it via another blogger?
