Myth About .INFO Domains

  • Author: Justin

I wanted to make this video because it kind of made me think of what you might have been thinking after watching the video about Buying .info domains. The fact of the matter is that the .info domains you buy will rank and they will not have a problem with Google if they are legitimate sites.

Make it happen! Get your .info domains and start building. Being successful online has more to do with doing than thinking. If you know the basics then anything is possible. I think that is what held me back originally for a while, and I don’t want that to happen to you guys. Build and work hard, and know the basics and the facts and you can be successful. overthinking things only wastes time. Time that you could have been building links and building more sites.

If we were focused on building a blog for readership, i would tell you otherwise, but we are not in this instance. We are looking to drive small amounts of traffic to our sites from people that are looking to buy.

Within the next coming weeks I am going to set up a bans site, and I am going to give it away for free. I will not tell anyone what the site is, but I will give you more details in the near future.

Below are just a few examples of .Infos that rank well in Google. just take a look at the first page of some of these key terms and you will see high rankings.

Haha I’m thinking you might have made this video because of the questions I asked you yesterday. Either way what you say makes a lot of sense and obviously it is a no brainer .99 for a domain is nothing. Thanks for the video.

The only problem I’ve ran into that’s sort of exclusive to .info’s is that some stupid email parsers think that a legit email address only has 3 characters in the top level domain. It’s occasionally a problem if you want to use a catch-all from these domains.

There are some bad/outdated regular expression examples out there for email address parsing and guess which ones come up first in Google, primarily due to the age of the site.

Justin, your videos are really great. I am guilty of being one of the over thinkers, after watching Vic’s video I bought 35 .info domains. Maybe tomorrow I’ll work on getting the other 65 or at least some more. I kind of followed your advice and opened up ebay and went through the categories and made up domains I thought I could use targeting items in different categories. When all was said and done I ended up spending around 35 dollars and I even got the private registration. I guess I got some kind of bulk deal or something because I had purchased it before. I should have some BANS sites setup by next week. I’ll keep you posted.

Come on Frank… Work with me here :) LOL!!

Emma, I am glad to hear that. Just have a goal of how many you will get setup and done per day and dont stop until you reach that goal. Just make it as if you are self employed. Then it will get done, and you will feel accomplished.

    Justin,

Thanks for clearing this up. I am guilty of thinking .info domains do not rank well in Google. I will be getting some .info domains today.

Have some unrelated questions about Hostgator and domain set-ups. I’ll get back with those when I get back from work.

Again thanks for the clarification on .info domains.

Too cool Justin. I’ve never used .info domains before but for the sale price that’s on them now I just couldn’t pass. This is my first go at BANS so gonna see what I can do. Did a quick webdesign the other day for a client and got some extra chingy so I’m jumping in with 40-info domains and the BANS software. Don’t know what I’m doing right now but hopefully following you and Vic I’ll pick it up somehow.

    Hi Justing,

its reallykool from last nights live chat. I was able to get BANS up and running on all 3 sites on Dreamhost. of course, i was up until 3am but now I can install it in under 5 mins!

finding damn .info sites to buy seems like the hardest part now, so i’m going to start going through your videos.

    wish me luck!

    regards
    Nirav.

Justin, a quick question on bans sites. On the reports page, I have zero impressions, I’m getting clicks on all of my sites (no money yet), but zero impressions, is that a problem I should look into or just ignore it?

    Nice vlog you got here!

I can relate to what you said about the .info. I have a bunch of .info and they all rank really well. One of my blogs fluctuates from page 1 to 2 for keyword: “make money blogging”

Good video, I have been thinking about getting a few .infos since they are cheap as chips. Since seeing your video I have been inspired to get a few :)

Gotta disagree. There is a .info bias, which is more evident now that ever before. Read this article: http://www.seobook.com/google-temporarily-purges-info-domain-names

I agree Janks, Google did make some changes, and when I wrote this post these things were not in place. Now that .info domains received a little kicking in the butt which no one could have really known, yes there is a difference. Thanks for giving some sources for good reading. I will do an update on this blog regarding.info domains.

I’ve just looked at info sites across the board on Google. You can type practically anything in your “site:whatever.info” search and come up with nothing. I bought most of my .info sites after Vic’s 100 BANS post so they aren’t that old.

Yahoo still seems to give them love though. Of course, Yahoo’s love doesn’t compare to Google but it is something. I guess we don’t have to completely panic just yet.
